EMC Sport Shocks are designed to offer maximum performance and
reliability for the serious motorcyclist. Assembled in Lyon, the components are
all made in England and feature the highest quality materials, all chosen and
designed to ensure the best possible product. The shock is available in two body
diameters to suit virtually all monoshock motorcycles. The standard models
feature a 16mm damper rod combined with a 52mm body. The smaller version (for
applications where space is limited) uses a 12.7mm damper rod with a 45mm body.
Virtually all the end fittings are machined from solid, aerospace quality,
aluminium. Natural anodised to prevent corrosion and to provide a hardened
surface, these fittings are designed to make the shock a direct replacement for
the original equipment unit. The bodies are all finished with a zinc/blue
process, again to ensure the best protection from corrosion.
Twin-Tube Gas Shock
The all-important gas is contained in a separate cell inside the body of the
shock. This means that no reservoir is necessary and that the shock can be
mounted in any position, even inverted.
Adjustable Pre-Load Natural
anodised spring seat and lock ring can be adjusted using the 'C' spanner
supplied with the shock to provide the exact pre-load adjustment required.
Adjustable Damping
A single adjuster controls both compression and rebound at the same time,
maintaining an ideal balance between the two. This makes the shock easy to
adjust and ensures that the compression damping is always correct, in contrast
to most single damping adjusters which control only rebound damping.
Progressive Compression
Careful attention to detail in the valving of the shock ensures low compression
damping at low shock speeds building to the pre-set level at speed. This means
that over small bumps the bike remains comfortable and at higher speeds on
bumpier roads the damping climbs to give you the control you need.
Rebuildable Construction
The shock has been designed as a serviceable unit in contrast to most OE shocks
which cannot be repaired.
Built to Last
The steel body is finished using a zinc/gold treatment with a hard-chrome damper
rod. The end fittings are machined from solid aerospace alloy and natural
anodised.
